Logistics Coordinator – Uxbridge

Role Purpose

Deliver high quality transportation solutions for our customers through effective communication with both all stakeholders to ensure the required levels are services are achieved in relation to quality, cost and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution of transportation activities in accordance with all customer service requirements
  • Adherence of operational margins for the relevant transport mode
  • Ensure on-time delivery of shipments in line with customer service requirements
  • Provide pricing for spot quote business as per customer requirements
  • Actively identify opportunities to reduce transport cost and improve margins
  • Utilize problem solving tools and implement corrective actions as appropriate
  • Provide world class customer service, and take ownership for assigned customers
  • Identify savings opportunities through consolidation activities, in accordance with supplier/customer agreements
  • Track loads through to delivery, and provide customer updates, where necessary.
  • Ensure that all data is input accurately into operational systems
  • Complete invoicing to customers as per GKN Freight Services company standards
  • Ensure that all reporting requirements are met in accordance with company standards
  • Adherence to standard procedures and work instructions
  • Maximization of load fill
  • Knowledge of hazardous material transport requirements

Specific Functional Competences, Knowledge and Skills Required

Essential

  • Experience of Road Freight operations within a freight forwarding company (including expedites) or a 3PL
  • ·Operational experience of Road planning processes
  • Excellent communication skills – internal and external (written and verbal)
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and logical thinking to solve problems
  • Good analytical and numerical skills
  • Able to demonstrate a Right First Time and Can-Do attitude
  • Identify areas of operational improvements through understanding Key Performance Indicators
  • Support all areas of the operation, and foster a collaborative culture within the team
  • Knowledge of transport documentation requirements
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel and Word)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and within a pressurized environment

Desirable

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Road Freight operations
  • Previous International logistics experience
  • Basic knowledge of International Transport
  • Previous system experience of Cargowise
  • Previous experience in either an automotive or manufacturing environment
  • Geographical knowledge of applicable region
  • Working knowledge of carrier invoicing and billing procedures
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations
  • Experience of customs compliance

Language Skills

  • English language fluency is essential
  • Other regional language is desirable

Travel Requirements

  • May require occasional regional travel

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
